Austin R. Waters is a PhD student minoring in Decision Sciences and Outcomes Research. His interests revolve around access to care, quality of care, and outcomes of adolescent and young adult (AYA) as well as LGBTQIA+ patients and caregivers. He is particularly interested in AYA and LGBTQIA+ cancer population’s unique support networks and how cancer treatment negatively impacts their financial, social, and developmental well-being. Austin is experienced in qualitative and community based participatory research methods and hopes to continue to deploy these methods to center patients while working towards more equitable cancer care systems. |
