Gillings School researcher addresses incentive disparities in HIV research
August 8, 2018 Dr. Karine Dubé shares new research into the ethics of incentives. She and her co-authors advocate for additional guidance on payments in clinical research and promote the idea of creating a database of payment practices specific to HIV research.
Eight faculty members win Teaching Innovation Awards
April 22, 2018 Eight faculty members were selected by students at the Gillings School as the 2018 Teaching Innovation Award winners. They are Dr. Carolyn Crump, Amanda Holliday, Dr. Whitney Robinson, Kathy Roggenkamp, Dr. Meghan Shanahan, Dr. Jason Surratt, Dr. Justin Trogdon and Dr. Vaughn Upshaw.

Alumnus honored with Triangle Business Journal’s Health Care Hero Award
March 15, 2018 Dr. Diego Garza, alumnus and adjunct faculty member at the Gillings School, was honored March 9 with Triangle Business Journal’s Health Care Hero Award. Garza is director of telehealth at Carolina Partners in Mental HealthCare PLLC, in Durham, N.C.

Gillings Merit Scholars and Gillings Dissertation Awards announced
August 29, 2017 Seventeen students were selected as recipients of Gillings Merit Scholarships or Gillings Dissertation Awards for the 2017-2018 academic year. The award funds, established in 2010 to help the Gillings School recruit and support graduate students with exceptional promise and potential, were made possible through the $50 million Gillings gift and are administered through the Gillings School’s Research, Innovation and Global Solutions office.
