Welcome to the Office of Student Affairs! Our office provides an array of services and resources to prospective, admitted, and current students. The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) enhances student development by providing a supportive and safe environment where students can achieve academic, social and professional success. We coordinate major school-wide programs such as orientation, student activities fair, career and internship fair, and professional development workshops. OSA conducts recruitment, coordinates diversity outreach programs to expose high school, undergraduate students, and professionals to the field of public health and offers career services for current students and graduates.
Getting involved is easy in our School. We have over 20 active student organizations. These organizations focus on global issues, diversity initiatives, community advocacy and healthy lifestyles. Our student organizations sponsor events like Gillings X, Hunger Lunches, journal clubs, lectures and tailgating socials just to name a few. Current students receive a weekly E-newsletter from our office to keep them informed of the numerous opportunities in our School and around campus. Check out a message from the Dean to current students.
We also want to make sure students excel in the classroom. OSA coordinates the Academic Enrichment Program. The Academic Enrichment Program strives to provide quality academic support in a group setting for students experiencing academic difficulty in entry level BIOS and EPID courses. We are dedicated to enhancing student development by providing a supportive and safe environment where students can achieve academic, social, and professional success.
