Wheeler named to lead UNC Lineberger’s new community outreach office, aiming to reduce cancer inequities

Dr. Stephanie Wheeler has been named associate director of UNC Lineberger’s new Office of Community Outreach and Engagement. In the new role, she will gather community input to assess the needs of North Carolinians related to cancer prevention, early detection, cancer care and survivorship.

Kosorok awarded ASA’s Senior Noether Award

Dr. Michael Kosorok, W.R. Kenan Jr. Distinguished Professor and chair of the biostatistics department, has been selected for the American Statistical Association’s Noether Senior Scholar Award. The annual award is given to a distinguished senior researcher and teacher in nonparametric statistics.
