Gillings Faculty Innovators Group
We are excited to announce the Gillings Faculty Innovators Group for faculty who are passionate about innovation, entrepreneurship, and translation for impact in public health. Members embrace the mindset of tackling the world’s most pressing public health problems with disruptive and impact-focused, innovative solutions.
The Faculty Innovators Group is designed to:
- create community for collaboration, idea sharing, and networking to develop new initiatives addressing the world’s public health challenges,
- raise awareness around this pipeline of work at the school, across campus, and beyond,
- provide a vehicle to launch targeted programming, e.g., micro-grants available to members for rapid prototyping / testing; implementing ideas resulting from the Real-World Impact project and other programming; provide opportunities for participating in related activities to advance this work, etc.
Equip yourself with the modern change-making mindset, methods, and tools to be effective in working across sectors and disciplines to solve complex, economic, social, and ecological problems. Three of the certificate’s courses, including the required core course Design Thinking for the Public Good, are housed in Gillings, as detailed in the sections below.
