On September 6, 2006, the SPH Office of Student Affairs will host its first ever Student Information Day. This event connects student with organizations in which they can make a difference in the School and the community and celebrates student leadership and involvement.
“Volunteering in student organizations is one way our students further develop skills and knowledge that will help them succeed,” says Dr. Felicia Mebane, Assistant Dean for Students. “Student Information Day gives them a convenient way to connect with opportunities that will help them do this and reinforce their commitment to improving public health.” Held in the Atrium of the Michael Hooker Research Building, each student organization will have a table with displays or handouts showcasing their mission, volunteer opportunities, and activities. Students are invited to stop by at their convenience between noon and 3:00pm. If you are an organization wanting to attract new colleagues who may bring fresh ideas and experiences to your mission, mark your calendars for this event and contact Kathy Graham to participate.
