A warm welcome to our incoming and returning Fall 2019 students, and happy #FDOC (First Day of Classes)! This is our regular biweekly update. Recent Ecosystem activities and accomplishments:
- Each student at Gillings now has an Academic Coordinator, who serves as their academic adviser and personal guide along their entire Gillings journey. We regard this relationship as the most foundational element of the Ecosystem and are so grateful to our fabulous team of professionals. Want to check out the assignments? They’re here.
- Our new Student Affairs Quick Guide is undergoing finishing touches and we expect to share it next week. It’ll help students discover and leverage services quickly and effectively. Equally importantly, it’ll also be a resource for staff and faculty who work with students.
- Recruitment continues for positions identified as top priorities to help us better serve our students:
- MPH@UNC Academic Coordinator Job Jacobs, Registrar Danny Collins and Awards & Funding Coordinator Jenna Keith will all join us in early to mid September. We’re excited to add these experienced student affairs professionals to the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) team.
- Recruiter and Business Services Coordinator searches are well underway.
- Ecosystem information sessions continue at department faculty meetings and many other venues. Contact us at SPHEcosystem@unc.edu if you’d like to schedule a session for a group.
- Thank you to everyone who’s reported issues or concerns, and please continue to do so. We’ll be working through transitions for many months. We can’t fix it if we don’t know about it!
As ever, please reach out to SPHEcosystem@unc.edu with suggestions or questions, or browse our web page. You can also subscribe or unsubscribe to this biweekly message by sending an email.
