Student Affairs Ecosystem Initiative - 6/14/19

We’re sharing a short but pivotal set of activities in this update:

• We held individual Ecosystem Career Development discussions with individual student services staff members. Each person shared work and career interests as well as questions and thoughts about the Ecosystem. We gained an enormous level of understanding about the work and aspirations of our student services professionals, and the passion and service mindset they bring every day. We’re on track to make recommended matches of individuals to positions, then circle back with the dean, senior associate dean and department chairs for their input before notifying staff about their new positions, no later than the end of June.
• Job descriptions are ready for anticipated external recruitment of those positions not filled by internal staff. We hope to get these posted early in July.
• We’re starting plans for a student services staff retreat in July to operationalize the Ecosystem, led by Associate Dean for Students Charletta Sims Evans. We’ll need all hands on deck and a flexible transition plan to be ready for fall. We’re on it!
