Dear CGBI Collaborators, Friends and Supporters:
It is with mixed feelings that I am announcing the departure of Gina “Gigi” Lawless BSN, RN, IBCLC effective February 23, 2021. It is never easy to lose a dedicated and hardworking member of the CGBI Team.
Since Gigi joined CGBI 6 years ago as a Social/Clinical Research Specialist and Breastfeeding Coach, she has been a valuable and respected member of our team. The work and contributions Gigi has given to the organization, including her unyielding dedication are greatly honored. She has given her heart and soul to our collective work. We will miss Gigi’s charm, professionalism, tenacity, and the contributions given to our team and our stakeholders. Her years of service to this organization are very much appreciated. She has been a change leader in several CGBI projects including; EMPower Breastfeeding, EMPower Training and the ENRICH Carolinas Project. She has served as a mentor to students, hospital teams, and staff, contributing to the evidence base of best practices in maternity care. She has represented CGBI at national meetings, presenting at the International Lactation Consultant Association and the American Public Health Association annual meetings just to name a few.
Gigi – Congratulations on your new job, they are very lucky to have you!
