Dr. Bill Sollecito will retire in June after 23 years of service on the faculty of the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health.
Holliday joins 2020 cohort of ACEND program reviewers
June 23, 2020 Amanda Holliday has been selected by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) board to serve a three-year term as a program reviewer. Her term begins this month.
McRee wins Sidney S. Chipman Award for outstanding maternal and child health contributions

June 1, 2020 UNC Health Sciences at MAHEC recently welcomed Dr. Susan Mims, a UNC Gillings alumna, as the chair of community and public health. Dr. Mims will help to lead the Asheville-based Master of Public Health program.
Islam, Emerson named recipients of early-career science award

Ezekwesili receives UNC Chancellor’s Award for multicultural leadership
May 22, 2020 Agnes Ezekwesili, a Morehead-Cain Scholar and recent graduate from the Bachelor of Science in Public Health program in nutrition, has received the George Moses Horton Award for Multicultural Leadership.
Gillings alumnus named president of Alamance Regional Medical Center
May 14, 2020 Mark Gordon, a Gillings School alumnus in health policy and administration, has been hired as president of Alamance Regional Medical Center. Gordon has also been named senior vice president with the Cone Health network of medical centers, of which Alamance Regional is a member.
