PUBH 805: Addressing Health Inequities and Social Determinants of Health through Service Learning
Amy Belflower Thomas is the Assistant Director for Research and Evaluation at the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). She serves as a public health consultant and dedicated leader in public health systems and infrastructure. Her passion is for increasing the capability of governmental public health to create strong partnerships, positive outcomes, and- ultimately- healthier communities. With education and experience in epidemiology, healthcare administration, and leadership, Amy is able to facilitate collaborative, data-based solutions to population health challenges by effectively and practically connecting evidence-based resources with on-the-ground public health practice. Amy is also a member of the NC Public Health Association Executive Committee and UNC Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention's Community Advisory Board. As an Adjunct Assistant Professor for PHLP, she serves as a Faculty Mentor and teaches PUBH 805 each spring.
