PUBH 805: Public Health in the Global Context- Service Learning with Vulnerable U.S. Populations
Amy Belflower Thomas is from eastern North Carolina, and though she has roots at both "Carolina" universities, she is partial to UNC.
As the director of community assessment and strategy for NCIPH, Ms. Belflower Thomas serves as the Administrator for NC Local Health Department Accreditation -- a mandatory standards-based system for accrediting local public health departments throughout the state. She also works with staff to provide valuable technical assistance resources to both state and local health agencies and health initiatives and serves on the NCIPH Management Team.
Ms. Belflower Thomas also serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor and Faculty Mentor in the Public Health Leadership Program at UNC Gillings.
Prior to joining NCIPH, Ms. Belflower Thomas worked in various roles at local health departments in North Carolina as well as with the state health department in South Carolina.
