UNC School of Public Health graduate students recognized with Impact Awards

CHAPEL HILL — Seven doctoral students in UNC’s School of Public Health received Impact Awards at an April 7 recognition ceremony sponsored by the Graduate Education Advancement Board and the UNC Graduate School. The award recognizes graduate students whose research makes a difference to the state of North Carolina. The awards are privately funded through contributions from members of the Graduate Education Advancement Board of the UNC Graduate School. The winners presented their research projects and received cash awards at the spring recognition ceremony. This year’s winners from the School are:
This was not the first year that students from the School of Public Health have been recognized by the UNC Graduate School. In 2004, Kristen Kucera, a doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology, won an Impact Award. Additionally, five graduate students from the School were given Achievement Awards in 2004 by the Graduate School and the Graduate Education Advancement Board in recognition of noteworthy research.
