Foster, former Gillings School faculty member, dies May 14

Edward Michael Foster, PhD, professor of health care organization and policy at University of Alabama-Birmingham’s School of Public Health, died on May 14. From 2005 to 2011, Foster was professor of maternal and child health and of health policy and management at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Gillings School of Global Public Health. Foster’s research focused on policy issues related to children’s development and on economic analysis of interventions and services for children with emotional and behavioral problems. Those who wish to honor him may make a donation in his name to the Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma Foundation.
