About

Michelle Hendricks is a Clinical Research Specialist with the Carolina Global Breastfeeding Institute (CGBI) in the Department of Maternal and Child Health. At CGBI, Michelle is a Breastfeeding Specialist for ENRICH Carolinas, an initiative funded by The Duke Endowment to increase the number of births in the Carolinas occurring in facilities working to improve maternity care practices through Baby-Friendly designation or a similar state recognition program.

Michelle is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She began her career in maternity services as NICU/Pediatric Registered Dietitian. She has been involved in state and national collaboratives to improve health outcomes of newborns and increase breastfeeding rates. She has been invited as a guest speaker to present her work and experience with implementing the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, safe sleep practices, and lactation telehealth.

Staff/Administrative Duties

Michelle provides coaching and technical assistance to hospitals and healthcare facilities in the Carolinas to improve maternity care practices and breastfeeding outcomes.
