Megan Pjura is an Infant/Toddler Childcare Health Consultant for the NC Child Care Health and Safety Resource Center with years of education and experience in both community and child health. With more than 8 years as a certified nurse aid level two (CNA II), Megan specialized alongside special need pediatric cases. As a previous epidemiologist intern working with the maternal and child health program through their infant and child fatality project, Megan’s dedication to the health and safety of children flourished. Megans background and interest are within infectious disease as she previously worked in health departments to prevent, detect, and analyze foodborne and enteric illnesses.
Megan, the Infant/Toddler Childcare Health Consultant, is responsible for her collaborative efforts in childcare facilities to assess, implement and evaluate specific strategies to achieve optimal health across administrators, facility owners, health care professionals, and families. This community-based approach will help to reduce infants and toddlers’ risk of illness and harm by providing education, assistance and trainings.
