Matthew Simon is a Senior Data and Geographic Information Systems Analyst at the North Carolina Institute for Public Health. Since 2009, working at NCIPH he has provided technical support and training in over 50 different data collection efforts with hospitals, non-profits, health departments and local foundations. As a member of the Community Assessment and Strategy team, he provides community data to inform and empower community-based organizations and their constituents through rigorous methodology that yields high quality data and results. His recent work has focused on asset and social determinant of health mapping, creating engaging and easy-to-understand stories with online, interactive maps. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his wife, two kids and Plott Hound playing in the yard, hiking through the woods and going on adventures.
