About

Becca Bender is a Senior Program Office for Community Engagement in the Carolina Center for Public Service. At the Center, she provides administration for APPLES Service-Learning programs and serves as a primary contact for APPLES community partners and instructors.


Becca graduated from Elon University with a degree in strategic communication and served as an AmeriCorps VISTA and community service coordinator at Lenoir-Rhyne University. She received her mater’s degree in higher education administration from North Carolina State University, where she also worked in the Center for Student Leadership, Ethics and Public Service. Before coming to UNC in 2016, she worked with leadership programs, multicultural competence, and service-learning experiences as a coordinator in the Center for Student Involvement at Lynn University in south Florida.
