About

Allison Schindler is a Pre- and Post-Award Grants Manager in the Health Behavior Department within the Gillings School of Public Health at UNC. She manages a portfolio of roughly 30 projects from 14 faculty members who have both foreign and domestic projects from numerous funding mechanisms through NIH as well as the State of NC and beyond. Prior to her position in Gillings, she worked as a Research Administration Specialist in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience where she focused on Post-Award for a portfolio of roughly 50 projects. In college, Allison was the lab manager for the FABB Lab, whose research was focused on emotions. She also completed an honors project on the intersection of Empathy and Implicit Bias. Outside of work, Allison loves to travel and is passionate about coffee and the local food scene. One of her favorite past-times is having a coffee chat with "We're Not Really Strangers" question cards.

Staff/Administrative Duties

Provides pre-award administrative management including working with principal investigators to prepare research proposals, progress reports and other grant and contract-related matters in the pre-award phase of development.

Functions as liaison to other UNC offices, principal investigators, and funding agencies and subcontractors regarding contracts, grants and clinical trials

In the post-award phase, provides accounting and close out activities for a portion of the grant and contracts awarded to the Department of Health Behavior.
