About

Dr. Salzberg is the Director of the Water Institute and the Don and Jennifer Holzworth Distinguished Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Salzberg has held a number of positions within the U.S. government including serving as the first Special Coordinator for Water at the U.S. Department of State where he led the development and implementation of U.S. foreign policy on drinking water and sanitation, water resources management, and transboundary water issues. He also directed the development of the first U.S. government-wide Global Water Strategy.
