About

Jaquayla Hodges (she/her) joins NCIPH after completing her master's in public health degree in Applied Epidemiology at UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health.  She has past experience with the North Carolina Community Engagement Alliance (NC CEAL) at the UNC Center for Health Equity. Her work there included helping community-led processes of mapping, communicating, and connecting the effects of long-COVID and other health determinants across North Carolina. She also previously worked with the Universidade Federal da Bahia- Ondina in Salvador, Brazil on a project that analyzed socio-economic factors, with an integrated cultural approach, that affected fishing communities following the largest oil spill ever recorded on the Brazilian coast. Outside of school and work, Jaquayla enjoys making everyone flan, relaxing at the beach and learning new languages (both spoken and coded)!
