About

Mary Eyram Ashinyo is a Public Health Physician Specialist with emphasis on Health Policy and Systems Management. With more than 13 years working experience, Ashinyo previously worked as a Medical Director of a district-type hospital for 8 years in the Ghana Health Service. She currently works as Quality Lead and Deputy Director at the Institutional Care Directorate of the Ghana Health Service. Ashinyo has experience implementing several national and international maternal and child health flagship projects and programs including the making every baby count initiative (MEBCI), integrated management of neonatal and childhood illnesses (IMNCI), Saving Lives at birth initiative through Obstetric triage implementation package (SLAB/OTIP), the WHO Quality of Care Network for quality, equity and dignity for maternal and child health, improving quality of maternal and child health through KAIZEN approach, infection prevention and control (IPC), water sanitation and hygiene (WASH), Patient Safety, air quality and health, antimicrobial resistance and one health, safe motherhood, Quality Improvement, etc. Ashinyo is a World Health Organization Consultant especially around Patient Safety Strategic Planning. Additionally, Ashinyo serves on Ghana's National Quality Steering Committee as the Ghana Health Service Representative, as the General Secretary for the Ghana Public Health Association and as the West Africa Hub Representative for Harvard University's Planetary Health Alliance
