About

Vickie Fennell is the Information and Lead Training Coordinator for the NC Child Care Health and Safety Resource Center. She brings with her over 15 years of experience serving in various capacities in the early care and education system. Prior to joining the Resource Center team in 2020, Vickie, an Eastern North Carolina native, has served in the early childhood system as a child care consultant with the Division of Child Development and Early Education, a coach coordinator/manager with the NC Partnership for Children on the Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge Transformation Zone Project, an early childhood college instructor, and a regional coordinator/assessor with the NC Rated License Assessment Project. She has served as an advisory board member with a local Partnership for Children and a local child care facility.

Teaching Interests

Vickie has a passion for adult education and training. Her teaching interests are related to child development, quality child care, and health, safety and nutrition.

Staff/Administrative Duties

As an Information and Lead Training Coordinator, Vickie lends her knowledge and experience of current child care rules and regulations, effective implementation practices, strengths based coaching, community engagement practices, engaging and supporting adult learners and quality practices in child care to serve as a training team lead at the Resource Center. In this role, she is the primary provider of child care health and safety information and resources to the early childhood field. She oversees and implements training and communicates child care health and safety news and information to child care health consultants and the public.
