Dr. Yourkavitch is an epidemiologist and board-certified lactation consultant whose research and applied work documents and addresses determinants of health for women and children, particularly in relation to perinatal health, lactation and infant feeding, infectious diseases, gender, equity, and health systems and service delivery in the U.S. and globally. She has nearly 25 years of experience in leading, designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating public health programs. She is the Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning at USAID Advancing Nutrition, a Program Director at Results for Development Institute, a Research Scientist at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, and an Academic Editor for child health at the journal PLoS One.
Dr. Yourkavitch lectures on infant feeding, global health, quantitative and qualitative research methods, and program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
