Samuel S. Jackson, Jr., J.D., is an adjunct professor at UNC School of Law and at Georgetown University Law Center. Professor Jackson maintained a civil litigation and mediation practice in McLean, Virginia until 2013, when he relocated to Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In addition to continuing his mediation practice, he teaches negotiation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) at the University of North Carolina School of Law. Since 1992, he has taught negotiations courses at Georgetown and, from 2014-17, at its Center for Transnational Legal Studies in London. He also taught at George Mason University School of Law since 2005 to 2015.
Professor Jackson was chair of the Joint ADR Committee of the Virginia State Bar and Virginia Bar Association from 2010 to 2012 and was president of the Virginia Mediation Network from 2000-2001. He is currently co-chair of the Committee on Mediator Ethical Guidance for the Dispute Resolution Section of the American Bar Association. He received his bachelor's degree from Princeton University and his Juris Doctor from University of North Carolina School of Law.
