About

Betsy is a senior behavioral scientist and director of a research division at FHI 360, with over 25 years of experience designing and implementing client and user-centered research, providing insight into participants’ understanding and use of products within clinical trials and informing product introduction and delivery in program settings. Since 2015, she has managed a team of 20-25 masters’ and PhD-level researchers, pursuing both investigator-led and intramural research and technical assistance to programs. She is the first author of a textbook on Qualitative Methods in Public Health, employs a range of qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods and is committed to mentoring emerging researchers interested in exploring how social, sexual and cultural contexts influence health behaviors.
