NCIPH's Moore receives NCPHA distinguished service award

Hazel Moore, MSN, RN, retired workforce development associate with the Gillings School of Global Public Health’s North Carolina Institute for Public Health (NCIPH), received the North Carolina Public Health Association (NCPHA) Distinguished Service award at the association’s annual conference on Sept. 18 in Wilmington, N.C.
NCPHA established the Distinguished Service Award in 1953 to recognize individuals in other organizations and professions who make significant contributions to public health in North Carolina. Moore was honored for her contributions to the professional development and training of public health nurses statewide.
During her 16 years at NCIPH, Moore trained more than 11,000 public health professionals across all 100 North Carolina counties in programs including Management and Supervision for Public Health Professionals and Introduction to Public Health Nursing.
