Sixteen students from the UNC Gillings School of Global Health have been inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the country’s oldest and most honored college honorary society. These outstanding students represent all four Gillings departments that offer a Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree. They include:

From the Department of Biostatistics:

  • Aditya Alagu Senthil, a junior with a biostatistics major and a chemistry minor
  • Ava Klissouras, a junior with biostatistics and mathematics majors and a data science minor
  • Aydin Bandukwala, a junior with a biostatistics major and a chemistry minor
  • Pranav Krishnan, a junior with biostatistics and computer science majors and a mathematics minor
  • Kaibo Tang, a junior with biostatistics and mathematics majors and a chemistry minor

From the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering:

  • Isabella Jade Siesel, a senior with an environmental health sciences major and chemistry and Spanish for the professions minors
  • Zoe Millicent Kang, a senior with an environmental health sciences major and a sustainability studies minor
  • Sarah Tova Kirsh, a senior with environmental health sciences and biology majors and a chemistry minor
  • Julian R. Goldner, a senior with an environmental health sciences major and a food studies minor

From the Department of Health Policy and Management:

  • Shaista Sayeed, a senior with a health policy and management major and a neuroscience minor

From the Department of Nutrition:

  • Emile Charles, a junior with a nutrition major and French and chemistry minors
  • Hannah Min-Young Oh, a junior with nutrition and economics majors and a chemistry minor
  • Aaron Wei, a junior with nutrition and chemistry majors
  • Anna Jiajing Feng, a senior with a nutrition major and a medicine, literature, and culture minor
  • Emily Qiu, a senior with a nutrition major and music and chemistry minors
  • Numair Attaar, a senior with nutrition and biology majors

Phi Beta Kappa membership is open to undergraduates in college and professional degree programs who meet stringent eligibility requirements. Less than 1% of all college students qualify for acceptance.

A total of 259 UNC-Chapel Hill undergraduates were inducted this fall as new members.
