A new study in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics shows that United States household purchases of foods and beverages containing caloric sweeteners declined between 2002 and 2018. However, purchases of products containing both caloric sweeteners and nonnutritive sweeteners increased.

Puertas marshals resources to combat pandemic in 26 countries

Health policy and management alumnus Dr. Benjamin Puertas enrolled in the Gillings School out of a desire to expand his capacity to make a difference, though he had already founded a school of public health and helped many patients as a medical doctor. Suzanne Maman named associate dean for global health

Antibody research shows promise in fight against COVID-19

Based on positive results published as a preclinical study, potently neutralizing antibodies show promise as a therapy for preventing and treating COVID-19. The monoclonal antibodies were isolated from the blood of a couple from Wuhan, China, who were diagnosed with COVID-19.
