About

Michael Newton’s career has spanned software development, the humanities, and the intersection of those domains. He began his working life writing computer games and more recently developed digital humanities tools as the Technical Lead for the UNC Digital Innovation Lab 2013-17. He has also written ground-breaking articles and books in the field of Scottish Gaelic Studies. He was recognized with the International award at the annual Scottish Gaelic awards in Glasgow, Scotland in 2018. He has extensive experience in software architecture, user interface design, and data visualization.
