Gillings School to host Teresa White, president of Aflac US

The University of North Carolina’s Gillings School of Global Public Health will host a presentation by Teresa L. White, MSM, president of Aflac U.S., on Friday, Sept. 30, at 2:30 p.m. in the Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation Auditorium.
White is responsible for driving seamless strategy and execution across Aflac’s U.S. operations, including oversight and support of the company’s extensive insurance distribution network of individual agents and brokers across the country. In her role, she focuses on specific growth enablers, including improving and expanding distribution, focusing on product innovation, owning Aflac’s customer experience, and strengthening the low-cost model. She has aligned sales and marketing operations in support of Aflac’s core strategy.
In February 2015, White appeared on the cover of Black Enterprise Magazine as one of the “50 Most Powerful Women in Corporate America.” She was one of 10 women selected for Insurance Networking News’ 2014 Women in Insurance Leadership Award, and recently was named to The Network Journal’s 2014 list of “25 Most Influential Black Women in Business,” which honored women at the forefront of American leadership who “symbolize the diversity and advancement that has occurred across industry lines.”
White also has received many other leadership awards, including the 2012 Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia’s Women of Distinction honor for setting an example of excellence, serving as a role model for girls and distinguishing herself through service to family, career and community.
