Gillings School drops GRE requirement for 8 graduate degrees

Leaders at the Gillings School are committed to creating a more equitable world through inclusive teaching, research and practice. To support this mission, the School will no longer require Graduate Record Examination (GRE) test scores from applicants to the Master of Public Health degree — the School’s largest degree program — and most other master’s-level graduate programs. This change is effective immediately.

Haddad's pandemic preparation pays off in Laos

Samuel Haddad, a 2018 UNC Gillings School nutrition alumnus, already was working in Laos with Population Services International to prepare for a public health emergency when COVID-19 began spreading on a global scale. His work there supported an effective national response to the pandemic.

Schwantes named William C. Friday Fellow

Timothy Schwantes, an alumnus of both the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and the UNC School of Social Work, was named a member of the 2020–2022 class of the William C. Friday Fellowship for Human Relations.
