In July, the US Supreme Court overturned 50 years of precedent set in Roe v. Wade to decide that there was no constitutional right to legal abortion, dramatically changing access to abortion. Today, more than 1 in 3 Americans lives in a state where abortion is nearly prohibited.

Despite abortion being a defining characteristic of the American political landscape for the last 50 years, the perceived contentiousness of abortion has largely precluded open dialogue about abortion. As a result, there are many large gaps in knowledge about abortion, and many people hold misperceptions about abortion and people who seek abortion.
