Perinatal Incarceration: Pathways & Opportunities for Change

October 13, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

In this Critical Conversation, we will explore the complexities that arise when pregnant people become entangled in the carceral system. Recent North Carolina legislation requires basic protections for incarcerated pregnant and postpartum people, but these changes are being asked of a structure ill-equipped to handle the complexities of this population. Join us to learn about the opportunities and challenges of implementing systems-level change to improve the health of incarcerated women and birthing people.
