Modern Civic Life and Public Health Across the Americas

This seminar will explore complex issues at the intersection of civic and physical health by focusing on the crucial roles women and migrants are playing in two populations—among displaced people in Colombia and in Latinx communities in the United States. We will seek to understand how social relationships, dialogues, religious values, and family traditions affect the fortunes of vulnerable people in different social contexts.
