Tyroler Distinguished Alumni Seminar: Facing Obesity in Mothers and Their Offspring
Event Navigation
Michele R. Forman, PhD, FACE, is a distinguished professor and the department head in the Department of Nutrition Science at Purdue University — and an accomplished graduate of the UNC Gillings epidemiology department! She will give a talk titled, “Facing obesity and other co-morbidity in mothers and their offspring: a life course approach.”
This seminar is named for Herman A. Tyroler, former Alumni Distinguished Professor Emeritus of epidemiology at the Gillings School, who had a transformative influence on the field of epidemiology. Since the early 1950s, his enthusiasm about epidemiology and his desire to harness the discipline to improve the well-being of communities contributed to the shaping of cardiovascular epidemiology, its mission and accomplishments.
All are welcome to attend the seminar. Please contact Chandra Caldwell, chandra_caldwell@unc.edu, if you have any questions.
