From data to story: a healthcare case study

February 21, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

The typical graph in a presentation often leads our audience wondering… so what?

When that question isn’t succinctly answered through effective visuals and story, it can lead our audience asking for more data, more data and more data. In shifting from exploring data to explaining data, we have to take intentional steps to enable our audience to get the main message from our data. Join this short session where Elizabeth Ricks will demo how to transition from exploring data to effectively explaining data with a real-world healthcare analytics example.

Elizabeth Ricks is an instructor with Storytelling with Data and lives in Charlotte, NC. Elizabeth developed her data storytelling skills through analytical roles spanning the pharmaceutical, retail, manufacturing and financial services industries. Her career has touched the entire analytical process from querying, organizing, modeling and analyzing data to communicating complex analytical results to technical and non-technical audiences. She has a Master’s degree in Business Analytics from St. Joseph’s University and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from West Virginia University.

Please note: a link to a live stream will be sent closer to the lecture date to all attendees who RSVP.
