For the first lecture in the Dean’s Inclusive Excellence Lecture Series, the Gillings School welcomes Chandra Ford, PhD, to speak on “Racism: Do Theory and Methods Matter?”
Ford is an associate professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at UCLA. Her areas of expertise include the social determinants of HIV/AIDS disparities, the health of sexual minority populations and Public Health Critical Race Praxis/Critical Race Theory. Dr. Ford is an author and editor of the new book Racism: Science and Tools for the Public Health Professional. She also is an alumna of the Gillings School’s health behavior department.
