UNC School of Public Health faculty recognized for arthritis research

Two UNC School of Public Health faculty members have been recognized with STAR awards by the Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals. Dr. Brenda Devellis, professor of health behavior and health education and Dr. Robert DeVellis, research professor of health behavior and health education will be honored for their ongoing scientific contributions to arthritis research at the organization’s annual meeting in November.Robert Devellis was additionally selected as the Association’s Distinguished Scholar for 2005.
The Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals, a division of the American College of Rheumatology, is a professional membership society composed of non-physician health care professionals specializing in rheumatology, such as nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, social workers, epidemiologists, physician assistants, educators, clinicians, and researchers.
