Two alumni win prestigious management awards

The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) recently awarded two prestigious awards to alumni of the School.Brian P. Schroeder (BSPH ’00, MHA ’02), business manager of Surgical Services at NorthEast Medical Center in Concord, N.C., and Matthew M. Womble (MHA ’01), chief executive officer of Select Specialty Hospital in Durham, N.C., are the North Carolina recipients of the Early Career Healthcare Executive Award.
Both serve as presidents of their respective ACHE chapters: Womble, of the Triangle chapter, and Schroeder, of the Charlotte chapter. Oscar Aylor, clinical assistant professor and director of professional development in the department of health policy and administration, commends these two alumni for “distinguishing themselves in professional leadership” so early in their health care careers.
