Sen awarded IISA Lifetime Achievement Award
Dr. Pranab K. Sen
Pranab K. Sen, Cary C. Boshamer Distinguished Professor of biostatistics, was selected as this year’s winner of the International Indian Statistical Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the fields of statistics and biostatistics. Sen accepted the award on April 23 at the 2011 International Indian Statistical Association (IISA) conference in Raleigh, N.C. Sen was made an honorary lifetime fellow of the IISA in 2000. He is an elected member of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (1968), the American Statistical Association (1969) and the International Statistical Institute (1973).
Sen is the fourth recipient of the prestigious IISA award, and the first recipient from UNC’s Department of Biostatistics.
