Other Residential Master’s Programs

In addition to the Master of Public Health (MPH) degree, the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health offers several other master’s degrees, including Master of Science (MS), Master of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR), Master of Science in Environmental Engineering (MSEE), Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) and Master of Health Administration (MHA).

Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA)

The Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) is offered both residentially and online. The Residential Master of Health Care Administration (MHA) degree focuses on developing competencies for students interested in pursuing careers in health-care management and consulting. The Online Master of Health Care Administration (MHA) is for executive students currently working full-time in the healthcare/public health workforce. The degree provides students with a comprehensive understanding of public health and health care, management methods, finance and quantitative values; the curriculum also offers insight into policy-related careers in health services management.

Master of Science (MS)

The Master of Science (MS) prepares students who are interested in advanced education or careers in research, practice or management in their field.

Master of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR)

The Master of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR) is for students who want to develop the skills necessary for a successful career as a principal investigator and collaborator in clinical and translational research.

Master of Science in Environmental Engineering (MSEE)

The Master of Science in Environmental Engineering (MSEE) is a one- or two-year program that gives students the vital skills and training in air quality and sustainable water resources needed to solve today’s environmental engineering and public health problems.

Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH)

The Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) prepares students for careers in practice, advanced education, research or management in public health.
