  • NUTR Department Seminar – “What Are My Biases? Implicit Bias Inventory and Dialogue” was  held Friday, October 30 at 2:30 p.m.

  • Semi-annual Dinner for Students of Color was held virtually on Friday, August 21, 2020.
  • The department’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee is forming working groups to develop a strategic plan to advance equity within the department. The plan will align with the Gillings’ School Inclusive Excellence Action Plan and involve nutrition students, faculty and staff in the planning and implementation.
  • Department leaders were required to complete REI Groundwater training by July 1, 2020. Those leaders were:

    • Stephen Hursting, Director of the PhD Program

    • Kim Truesdale, Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee
  • In total, 30 out of 44 faculty with primary faculty appointments (68%) in nutrition completed REI training by August 1, 2020.
