Organizational Strategy and Improvement

We work with partners to support their efforts towards organizational assessments, strategic planning, business development, quality improvement, and programmatic monitoring and evaluation.

Organizational Assessments

How can we better understand our current state and move towards our mission and goals?

Our team helps public health and healthcare entities assess their organization and partnerships to realize capacity in alignment with their mission and goals. Our assessments focus on:

  • Data collection, analysis, and interpretation methods
  • Performance measures and alignment with mission, values, and goals
  • Capacity to provide products, deliver services, support and empower workers
  • Organizational culture and performance incentives and rewards
  • Opportunities to find, assess, and implement evidence-based strategies

Strategic Planning and Implementation

Where can we get support for strategic planning?

Our expert team members engage organizations, agencies, and staff to build long-term plans. We help clients better understand and respond to challenges they are facing by:

  • Establishing and tracking an organization’s strategic direction
  • Conducting environmental scans
  • Assessing organization capacity and readiness for change
  • Helping public health agencies meet N.C. accreditation requirements for strategic planning

How can we move from ideas to action as we generate new products and services?

Our team works with organizations to build business plans for new public health products and services. Our team members have worked with many clients to:

  • Identify and clarify adaptive initiatives (e.g. new service delivery models)
  • Win contracts, plan for, and manage capacity-building and programmatic projects.

Quality Improvement and Capacity Building

How can we improve the quality of our work?

We work with public health and healthcare organizations to analyze work processes and identify opportunities for quality improvement. We assist our client organizations in:

  • Executing Plan, Do, Study, Act and LEAN approaches to Quality Improvement (QI)
  • Improving work processes and setting organizations up to conduct future QI interventions themselves

How can we know if our programs are having the impact we want?

We help organizations discover whether their programs and projects are having a desired impact – and if not, how to make programs and projects more effective via monitoring and evaluation. Our evaluators aid clients in:

  • Selecting and designing appropriate monitoring and evaluation frameworks
  • Setting up the evaluation project and performance measures
  • Measuring progress via data collection, analysis, and metrics
  • Developing improvement strategies for monitored projects
  • Drafting, disseminating, and communicating findings

How can we build leadership capacity among our staff, leaders, and teams?

In partnership with our Workforce Development team, we help public health organizations develop leadership and management capacity by:

  • Assessing organizational leadership capacity and development opportunities
  • Co-creating, managing, and facilitating leadership/management development programs
