Journal of Public Health Management and Practice 20th anniversary issue features accreditation; UNC’s Mary Davis is guest editor
The 20th anniversary issue of the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice is “Transforming Public Health Practice Through Accreditation.” The guest editors, Les Beitsch, Liza Corso, Mary Davis, Brenda Joly, Jessica Kronstadt, and William Riley, worked for nearly two years to develop this publication. Guest editor and co-author, Mary Davis, DrPH, MSPH, is a senior investigator at the North Carolina Institute for Public Health, part of the Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This January 2014 anniversary issue was coordinated by the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) with support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The special issue highlights the emerging evidence base around public health department accreditation through research studies, commentaries, and case reports.
