The UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health will host an exhibition developed by the National Institutes of Health’s National Library of Medicine. “Against the Odds: Making a Difference in Global Health” will be on display Feb. 6-13 in the School’s Michael Hooker Research Center atrium.

Topics addressed in the display include community health, food, war, AIDS, disease prevention, health disparities and global collaboration.

“This display will provide the visual illustration of these critical global health topics that truly resonate with people,” according to Margaret (Peggy) Bentley, PhD, associate dean for global health at the School. “I expect our students, faculty and staff to be moved by this exhibit and continue to be inspired to address these issues through our research, service and teaching.”

The exhibit is presented by the NIH National Library of Medicine, with support for the traveling exhibition provided by Partners in Information Access for the Public Health Workforce. Association of Schools of Public Health funding covered shipping charges for interested member schools.
