NHERW logoThis document sets forth the terms and conditions for participation in the National Health Equity Research Webcast. The annual live webcast is an interdisciplinary, collaborative effort that builds on the expertise and support of UNC campus partners, community agencies, researchers and practitioners in health and education fields. The webcast appeals to organizations and individuals in North Carolina and across the nation with a focus on health equity, educational achievement and economic stabilization in all areas within our society.


 The Minority Health Project of the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health agrees to:

(a) Distribute via Internet, without charge, all sessions of the Annual Summer Public Health Research Videoconference on Minority Health; and
(b) Make available selected promotional and instructional materials that Registered Sites may duplicate for use in connection with the broadcast.

The Registered Site hereby agrees to designate an on-site facilitator who will be responsible for:

(a) Providing a room of adequate size to accommodate the expected audience at the site;
(b) Preparing the facility including arranging for sufficient audio/visual monitors and equipment, seating, and (optionally) refreshments;
(c) Publicizing the event locally;
(d) Greeting attendees and providing an orientation of the event;
(e) Providing information and assistance to local attendees as the need arises;
(f) Coordinating attendee registration, if any, for your site;
(g) Completing the site facilitator evaluation, including an accurate count of the number of participants during the broadcast.

The Registered Site agrees to the following conditions:

(a) The copyright in broadcast recordings and associated materials belongs to the presenters or to the Minority Health Project of the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health; these recordings and materials shall not be sold or rented, nor shall they be disseminated beyond the facility, by any means, without written approval of the Minority Health Project at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health.
(b) Recordings of the broadcast shall not be edited or altered without specific written permission;
(c) The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Gillings School of Global Public Health, the Minority Health Project, and their constituents and partners will make a good faith effort to provide the broadcast as advertised but shall not be liable for failure to deliver the broadcast (or any portion of it) or for its quality, regardless of the reason. If a registered site is unable to receive the broadcast, the Minority Health Project will provide a copy on DVD if one is available.
