Taskforce Members:
What We’ve Done So Far
The task force work will be completed in three phases. Phase I addressed revisions to the position description, candidate recruitment, search committee composition and training, and added equity advocacy principles and checkpoints across the entire hiring process. The task force also hired external equity experts to support the Department’s current faculty searches.
What we’re working on next
During Phase II, the task force is providing recommendations on the search committee process; these will include the interview process, the interview questions, the candidate evaluation process (including candidate scoring frameworks and the collection and incorporation of feedback into candidate evaluations), and the selection and offer-making processes. During this phase, the Task Force will actively participate in, advise, monitor, and evaluate our recruiting and hiring practices. We’re also creating an online toolkit based off Oregon State University’s equity advocate training program. The toolkit will provide a step-by-step process, along with action steps and resources to implement and support equitable searches.
