Email: afhoff@live.unc.edu | Ms. Hoffman is a PhD candidate in the department of Health Policy and Management at the Gillings School of Global Public Health at UNC Chapel Hill. Her current research focuses on using qualitative and quantitative methods to understand how the payment policy landscape impacts provider and organizational behavior. Her dissertation work analyzes the impact of payment reform on the skilled nursing facility market. She is currently funded through a dissertation award from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
Prior to and during her PhD program, Ms. Hoffman worked as a Research Associate at L&M Policy Research in Washington, DC, a research assistant .at the Sheps Rural Health Research Center, and a pre-doctoral fellow in Duke’s Department of Population Health. In these roles, she contributed to the evaluations of major Medicare demonstrations, created research briefs for policymakers, and identified quality metrics for a national provider organization. Additionally, she developed and applied skills in econometrics, cognitive interviewing, key stakeholder interviewing, and qualitative analysis. Her work has been featured in The Journal of the American Medical Association, The Journal of Rural Health, and Healthcare. Ms. Hoffman holds a BA in Public Policy from UNC Chapel Hill. |
