Three graduate students in the School of Public Health’s Department of Health Policy and Administration took third place recently in a national healthcare competition sponsored by the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE). April Clark, Robin Hunt and Jessica Thompson competed against 15 teams in the Case Competition, which is designed to give first- and second-year graduate students hands-on experience in analyzing case studies related to health care. The case study focused on operations, finance, marketing and other skills related to a specific health care organization. Previous case studies featured organizations such as Grady Health System, Kaiser Permanente, the Mayo Clinic, Trinity Health and Catholic Health Initiatives. The competition involved three weeks of analysis and multiple presentations in front of a panel of judges representing corporate and academic leaders in health care. The National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) is a nonprofit association of African-American healthcare executives. # # # For more information, contact Ramona DuBose, director of communications for the UNC School of Public Health, by telephone at 919-966-7467 or by email at ramona_dubose@unc.edu. |
