Career transitions can be challenging, especially when moving between sectors like global health, international development, and corporate roles. This section provides tools to help students and alumni identify transferable skills, tailor resumes, network effectively, and explore new career opportunities beyond their previous roles.
Launched by Wayan Vota. The idea is to be a community supporting foreign aid staff trying to shift to other work. You can subscribe for free or paid and there are then two different levels of access. Offers community-led career transition support, resume & CV tailoring (paid), Job search accountability groups and free job search resources.
The "Federal 2 Industry (F2I) Resume GPT" helps transform federal resumes into industry-specific resumes. It offers assistance to individuals transitioning from federal government positions to private sector jobs, adapting their resumes to meet industry expectations and standards. It can optimize resumes to highlight transferable skills, making the candidate more appealing to industry employers.
A great resource for early careers trying to make sense of the new landscape
The Pivot Playbook is a resource hub designed to support professionals who have experienced setbacks in mission-driven fields such as public health, climate action, education, international development, and social justice. It offers tools and guidance to help individuals navigate their next steps, including job boards, resume resources, skill development databases, LinkedIn community groups, and a job application tracker.
For people impacted by federal firings, funding cuts, and/or hiring freezes: Use the form in the link above to request a resume review or a 30-minute career support conversation! Support is coordinated by Derek Attig and provided by professionals in the Graduate Career Consortium and other nonprofit educational organizations. Advisors have extensive experience in career advising across multiple fields. They have a lot of experience offering career transition support to people from biomedical sciences, engineering, arts and design, international affairs, DEI, data, education, and many more, including people with master's or doctoral degrees. The support provided is completely free no one will be asked to pay for services at any time.
The American Public Health Association (APHA) offers extensive career support, including job boards, employer connections, interview preparation, networking opportunities, and continuing education (CE) webinars. These resources are beneficial for those seeking jobs in public health, policy, research, and nonprofit sectors.

This section includes broad career transition tools, covering resume building, job search strategies, professional networking, and skill development. It provides access to platforms like LinkedIn Learning, career mentorship programs, and online job boards that help professionals navigate changing job markets.

Includes resources with graduates with working experiences who are looking to transition. - Offers self-paced career training, resume and interview guidance, and job search strategies. - Helps students/ graduates identify transferable skills and navigate careers in government, industry, nonprofits, and other sectors.
Tailored for PhD students and postdocs seeking careers outside traditional faculty roles. Provides career transition resources, webinars, and professional development training for non-academic roles. Covers job search strategies for careers in research, policy, healthcare, business, and more.

Finding the right job requires access to reliable job boards and networking platforms. This section compiles job posting sites focused on global health, public health, nonprofits, and international development. It includes dedicated career centers, industry-specific job boards, and a crowdsourced list of open positions to help students and alumni stay updated on new opportunities.
The North Carolina Global Health Alliance Career Center offers job opportunities from its member organizations. Clicking on an organization sends you directly to their job boards
The NGO Job Board is a platform that connects job seekers with opportunities in the nonprofit and international development sectors. It features a variety of job postings, including full-time, part-time, consulting, internship, and volunteer roles, across various skill areas such as healthcare, education, crisis response, and human rights.
